There comes and age when you look in the mirror and don't recognise the face looking back at you.
What Happened?
On my 60th birthday, I stood in front of the mirror and didn’t recognise the face looking back at me. That isn’t a dramatic opener. It’s exactly what happened.
My face looked heavier, my skin looked duller and my eyes looked tired. The firmness I’d always taken for granted had softened, and the makeup that once made me look polished was now settling into my lines and making me look older.
I remember thinking, “When did this happen?”
The problem wasn’t that I’d suddenly lost my ability to do makeup. I was still using the same products and following the same routines, but they no longer worked for the face I had now.
I needed to go back to basics and rethink my whole beauty routine.
I didn’t have all the answers, but I did have more than 40 years of experience in the makeup and beauty industry. So I set up my YouTube channel and began my journey to find the products, techniques and routines that truly work for the women we are now.

Why 'Mature' Beauty?
With age comes change and mature beauty is different. Our skin has different needs, and the products and techniques that work beautifully on a 21-year-old influencer, do not work in the same way on ours.
At 61, I’m dealing with many of the same issues you are, so I understand not only what mature skin looks like, but how those changes can make you feel.
I also bring more than 40 years of experience in the beauty industry. I trained as a beauty therapist, makeup artist and hairdresser, and have worked in salons, managed cruise ship spas, worked as a makeup artist in London and later taught beauty therapy at college.
So when I demonstrate makeup techniques, talk about skincare or review a product or device, I’m looking at it from both sides: professional beauty experience and the reality of living with mature skin.
